What are business and shopping directory listings, and how does it work?

A directory listing is a short, public record of a business or website: the name, a description, the category it belongs in, and a link to the site. People use a directory to browse by topic instead of guessing search terms. Site owners use it to be found next to other reviewed businesses in the same trade.

1AmericaMall is that kind of directory for business and shopping. It has been online since 1996. Listings are checked by a person. They are not published automatically.

What you see in a listing

Each listing on 1AmericaMall shows the business name, a description written at submission, the category, and a link to the company’s own website. Featured listings paid for extra placement on the homepage. They still go through the same review as a free listing.

How to find a business

Open a category on the homepage, or use search. Categories cover shopping, services, travel, and other trades. Only approved listings appear there. If a site is unfinished, misleading, or a poor fit for a general directory, it does not go live.

How to get listed

Use List Your Business. Choose the closest category, use the real business name as the title, and describe what the site actually is. Read the submission guidelines before you send it.

After you submit, the listing waits for review. We look at the website and then approve it or reject it. Payment for featured placement does not skip that step.

Free and featured

A free listing stays in its category after approval. A featured listing is a paid upgrade for stronger placement. Both kinds are human-reviewed. If you need to change a live listing, use the contact form and include the business name and the email used at submission.
